June is Alzheimer's & Brain Health month, a month set aside to raise awareness for diseases that affect the brain. Diseases such as dementia, MS, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and more.

So how can we improve the health of your brain? Probably memory games, right? That's a great start! We all want to maintain brain health as we get older but how? Well our lifestyle of course. How we live, move, eat, think, and breathe impacts our health and well-being to include our brain health. However, we can start with nutrition. Food is fuel for the brain and body and certain foods can have a positive impact on the brain.

Brain Food Checklist:

  1. Oily Fish like salmon

  2. Dark Chocolate

  3. Berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries)

  4. Whole grains (brown rice, barley, oatmeal)

  5. Nuts and Seeds (sunflower seeds, hazelnuts, almonds)

  6. Avocado

  7. Coffee

  8. Peanuts

  9. Broccoli

  10. Kale
